Vividly Imagine the Shot

When practicing using single targets, always vividly imagine how the shot comes together. You tie both sides of the brain up with doing different things, thereby working together.

This is a big deal because your swing will not be the same every day you go to shoot. Recognizing how your body’s rhythm is that day, training with it, and making adjustments and scoring is huge.

This is why I believe that concentrating on the last 14 percent of the shot and letting the first 86 percent take care of itself is so powerful. Also, using the anticipation circuit and seeing the target come to the stable picture is so much more relaxing.

Chasing the target down and trying to fix it at the end creates tension and panic. This allows the argument to get in and robs you of consistency in your game.
